UK Retirement Pot Projection

Project a defined-contribution pot and planning income from assumptions you enter. State Pension entitlement, tax and tax relief are not inferred.

Projected pot
—
Current pot plus your future additions — Future employer additions — Projected investment change —
Illustrative annual income before tax
Pot × entered withdrawal rate — Entered State Pension forecast — Combined planning amount —
Desired annual income — Projected annual amount — Planning shortfall — Additional pot at entered withdrawal rate — Amount above goal —

The projection compounds the entered annual return monthly and adds the entered personal and employer amounts after each month. The withdrawal rate must be above 0% and remains a planning assumption, not a safe or guaranteed rate. Values are nominal and before fees, inflation and tax. Enter a State Pension amount only from your own GOV.UK forecast; enter zero to exclude it.

Primary context: GOV.UK State Pension forecast, private-pension planning guidance, tax on private pensions, and pension tax relief. Eligibility, relief method, allowances and tax depend on personal and scheme circumstances and are not calculated here.

01

The pot projection is a scenario

Investment returns, charges, inflation and contribution changes can materially alter the result. Test lower and higher return assumptions. The displayed investment change can be negative when the entered return is negative.

02

Use your own State Pension forecast

GOV.UK’s forecast service shows how much you may receive, when you may receive it and whether gaps may be filled. State Pension age is reviewed and entitlement depends on the National Insurance record, so this calculator does not assign a full-rate amount or infer qualifying years.

03

Tax and relief are outside this estimate

Private-pension tax relief depends on scheme registration, contribution method, earnings, tax position and applicable allowances. Pension income, including State Pension, can be taxable. Enter cash amounts that actually reach the pot and review tax separately.
