How frame count, duration, and FPS relate
The three values are linked by frame count = duration (seconds) Γ FPS. For example, a 60fps video with 3600 frames has a duration of 3600 Γ· 60 = 60 seconds (exactly 1 minute). Conversely, a 10-second clip at 30fps needs 10 Γ 30 = 300 frames.

How to read a timecode (HH:MM:SS:FF)
A timecode marks an exact position in a video as hours:minutes:seconds:frames. At 30fps, for example, frame number 95 is timecode 00:00:03:05 β meaning "3 seconds in, plus 5 frames."

Why do drop-frame and non-drop-frame timecodes differ?
29.97fps isn't actually exactly 30 frames per second, so over long recordings the timecode drifts from real wall-clock time. Broadcast editing uses "drop-frame" timecode, which skips certain frame numbers to correct for this drift β this tool only provides a simplified non-drop-frame approximation.
When I change FPS, what stays fixed β frame count or duration?
