Schengen past 180-day stay count
Count entered stay days in the 180 days ending on your selected date. European Commission guidance was checked on October 4, 2026.
This is retrospective date arithmetic only. It does not decide how long you may stay in the future, whether you may enter, or whether a visa or residence status is valid. Check the official calculator and your border records for real decisions.
Do not enter periods spent under an EU residence permit or long-stay D visa in this short-stay count. A short-stay visa may also allow fewer than 90 days; its printed limit applies separately.
Choose an as-of date no later than today on this device.

This is an arithmetic difference for the current 180-day window. Negative values are shown as-is. It is not future stay permission or a violation verdict.

Frequently asked questions
Are overlapping dates counted twice?
Can I stay for the number shown after subtracting from 90?
Methodology and official sources
Stay days are deduplicated using the EU rolling 180-day window and inclusive entry/exit-day rule.
Method
Look back 180 days including the as-of date, count each unique day covered by the entered stays with both entry and exit dates included, then subtract the total from 90.
Worked example
Entry on 1 January and exit on 10 January counts as 10 stay days because both dates count.
Limitations
- Long-stay visas or EU residence permits may fall outside this calculation.
- The tool does not decide nationality agreements, visa-sticker limits, or member-state exceptions.
- Confirm with the official EU calculator and the competent immigration authority.
