Standard-rate amount (before reductions)

Standard rate used: —
This is not the tax amount due. Check the taxable base, vehicle and owner reductions, and registration location with your local authority or WeTax.
For a light passenger car meeting the statutory size and non-commercial-use conditions and acquired by December 31, 2027, acquisition tax of up to KRW 750,000 is waived, or KRW 750,000 is deducted if the tax exceeds that amount. The reduction is clawed back if the car is used commercially within one year of acquisition (Local Tax Special Restriction Act, Article 67). Light vans and trucks have a different reduction provision. This calculation applies no reduction; check with the local authority.
Bond purchases, registration fees, and the total vehicle cost are not calculated. Their rules vary by location and vehicle.
Generally, report and pay within 60 days of acquisition. If you register earlier, pay by the day the registration application is filed.
