Frequently asked questions
When should I start preparing for a move?
It's best to start at least 1-2 months in advance. That gives you time to compare moving company quotes, sort out unnecessary items, and check the new home's layout — and moving outside peak seasons (Feb-Mar, Jul-Aug, Dec) can also save you money.
How soon after moving do I need to register my new address?
You must register within 14 days of moving. Missing the deadline may result in a fine, and you can register either at a community center or online through Government24.
What should I check first on moving day?
Photographing the electricity, gas, and water meters at both the old and new home is the most important first step — these photos serve as evidence for final utility settlements and help prevent disputes.
How do I use the "Check All" feature on this checklist?
You can check off each item step by step, with your progress shown at the top. Use "Check All" or "Uncheck All" to reset or complete everything at once, and the print function lets you keep a paper copy too.
What administrative tasks must I complete after moving?
Register your address change within 14 days, update your vehicle registration address, driver's license address, national health insurance address, and telecom billing address. If you have children, don't forget to transfer their vaccination records too.
