GUIDE

Reference notes

01

Enter one ingredient per line

Write the ingredient name and unit first, followed by the quantity used and cost per that same unit. For example, Flour (kg), 0.5, 2.40 means 0.5 kg at 2.40 per kg.

02

How the recipe cost is calculated

Each line cost is quantity used multiplied by cost per unit. The calculator adds the line costs, then divides the recipe total by the number of servings.

03

What the result does not include

The result does not add tax, delivery, packaging, energy, labor, or ingredient waste unless you include those costs as separate lines. It also does not convert currencies.

04

Check the total before using it

Compare the largest line costs with the package prices you entered, then confirm that the recipe total divided by servings matches the per-serving result. This catches misplaced decimals and mixed units.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate cost per unit from a package?
Divide the package price by the usable amount in one unit. A 5.00 package containing 2 kg costs 2.50 per kg.
Can I use won, dollars, or euros?
Yes. Use one currency for every line. The totals remain in that currency.
How should I include packaging or ingredient waste?
Add each cost as its own line, or increase the affected ingredient quantity to reflect the expected usable yield.
