GUIDE

What to check before using it

01

When this tool is useful

Use this to find the pixel dimensions needed for A0-A10, US Letter, or Tabloid at a chosen DPI. Select a paper preset and DPI to see millimetres, inches, and pixels together.

02

How the result is produced

The embedded millimetre dimensions are divided by 25.4 to obtain inches, then each side is multiplied by DPI and rounded. The formula is pixels = mm / 25.4 × DPI.

03

Worked example and interpretation

A4 at 300 DPI is approximately 2480 by 3508 pixels from a 210 by 297 mm sheet. Swap the two pixel values when creating a landscape document.

04

Scope and limitations

The result is a nominal trim size and excludes bleed, printer margins, and resampling. Follow the print provider’s file specification and color profile first.

Frequently asked questions

Which units should I enter in Paper size and resolution calculator?
Follow the field labels and example. Width and height in one calculation must use the same unit; mixing pixels, millimetres, and inches makes the result meaningless.
Can I place an order from the rounded Paper size and resolution calculator result?
Use it for planning and candidate comparison, then verify the printer or manufacturer’s actual dimensions, allowance, or frame opening before ordering.
Are my Paper size and resolution calculator calculations saved?
Inputs and calculations currently stay in the browser and are not saved to an account. Record needed values with their units in your project notes.
