How the result is produced
The preview canvas is divided into equal horizontal and vertical intervals and a line is drawn at every boundary. The tool does not recognize shapes or enlarge individual cell contents.

Worked example and interpretation
With ten columns, draw the same ten-column grid on the target surface and copy contours by matching coordinates from the upper-left cell. A light grid is easier to read on a dark photo.

Scope and limitations
A different aspect ratio between the source and target will stretch the transferred drawing. Match ratios first, and use copyrighted references only within the permission you have.

No. Image reading and canvas processing currently happen in the browser. On a shared device, also manage downloaded files and browser history appropriately.
