It is also handy when you only need to keep a snapshot of a specific page from a contract or manual.
PNG uses lossless compression, making it ideal for text, diagrams, and scanned documents with sharp edges, since there is no quality loss. JPG uses lossy compression but produces much smaller files, which is useful for pages with photographs or when sharing many pages at once. Choose PNG when you need to preserve document detail exactly, and JPG when you need smaller files and faster delivery.
1x resolution is sufficient for on-screen viewing or quick previews, and processes faster while producing smaller files. 2x resolution renders images at double the pixel density, better suited for print or documents with fine text and detailed diagrams that need to be zoomed in. However, converting a PDF with many pages at 2x can rapidly increase browser memory usage, so we recommend trying 1x first for documents over 50 pages.
