A country code (calling code) is the prefix you dial before a phone number to identify the destination country for an international call. For example, South Korea is +82, the United States and Canada are +1, and Japan is +81. When calling Korea from abroad, dial +82 followed by the number without its leading 0.
An international call is usually entered as "international access code + country code + area code (drop the leading 0) + phone number". On mobile phones the + symbol replaces the access code, so saving a number as +82 10-1234-5678 lets you use it identically from any country.
