1. Where Word Frequency Analysis Helps

Word frequency analysis is used to check whether a blog post or product description over-repeats a keyword, to spot commonly mentioned terms in survey responses or interview transcripts, and to catch overused phrases in a cover letter or paper.

02

2. Why Exclude Stopwords

Words like "the", "a", and "is" in English, or particles and pronouns in Korean, dominate the raw count in almost any text but add little to meaning-level analysis. Turning on "Exclude stopwords" filters these out so the ranking surfaces the actually meaningful keywords.

3. A Note on CJK Text

Unlike English or Korean, Chinese and Japanese kanji don't use spaces between words, so this tool's whitespace-based tokenizer may not match true word boundaries there. A notice appears whenever the input contains CJK ideographs β€” for precise word segmentation, pair this with a dedicated language-processing tool.

Frequently asked questions

Is my text sent to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser β€” this tool never calls a backend API.
Are numbers counted as words?
Yes. A run of digits (e.g. "2024") is treated as a single token and counted.
Can it analyze mixed Korean and English text?
Yes. Hangul syllable blocks and Latin/number runs are each recognized as separate tokens and counted together.
