How exchange rates are sourced
Website and native app request ExchangeRate-API reference rates with USD as the base currency. Each uses separate private local storage, shared with Currency Converter only in that environment. Both show source and UTC update time. Dated bundled ECB rates apply only when fetched/cached rates are unusable.

Card fees and actual settlement rates are separate
The result is a reference-rate conversion. Foreign transaction fees, card settlement rates, and cash exchange spreads can change the actual amount charged.
